Is Danzan Ryu the same as Brazilian Jujitsu
The answer is yes and no. We touch a little bit on everything, throws, strikes, blocks, kicks, standing takedowns and grappling.
Do you spar in your art?
Because of the nature of the techniques, and the potential for serious injury. We do not conduct full contact fighting. We do how ever do what is called Freestyle, which allows you to practice your techniques in a controlled enviornmet.
As you increase in rank and enhance your skills the speed and difficulty of your techniques will also increase.
Is this school expensive?
Absolutely not, Sensei Estes would rather see an individual or family participate and learn the art with a reasonable price rather than spending an outrageous amount of money for training.
If finances are tight . Sensei Estes will work with anyone in these situations.
Do you advance quickly?
The harder you work the faster you advance. It is really all up to the student on how fast you progress in this art.
